Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security (MAPTSS) controls 811,991 public employees, including military and paramilitary personnel.
The data were released Wednesday in Luanda by the Secretary of State for Public Administration, Amélia Varela, while speaking at the 7th edition of the “Briefing” with journalists.
Varela said 399,820 civil servants belong to the civil public administration, of whom 47,579 belong to the central administration and 352,241 to the local administration.
As for the distribution of personnel by career regime of the office and management and leadership, Amélia Varela said that the general regime has 92,972 employees (23.25%), the special regime with 281,207 (70.33%) and the management and leadership with 25,641 (6.41%).
The sectors of education and health have the largest number of civil servants, accounted for 46.3% and 18.1%, respectively
