Moçsmedes: The minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, emphasized the importance of providing quality, inclusive, equitable, and relevant education to meet the needs of communities during a recent event in MoçSmedes, Namibe Province. The minister's remarks came at the inauguration of a new 12-classroom school, which is set to accommodate 900 primary school students in its initial phase. According to Angola Press News Agency, the new educational infrastructure, located in the Bela Vista neighborhood, was established as part of the social responsibility initiatives by Azule Energy, ExxonMobil, and Sonangol, companies active in the oil sector. Minister Grilo highlighted the critical role of education in societal development, urging both students and teachers to engage actively in the learning process. She expressed hopes that students would develop skills to adapt to global changes and challenges, fostering creativity and critical thinking. Minister Grilo extended gratitude to ANPG and the contributing companies f or their efforts, acknowledging the positive impact on children's education. She envisioned the school as a nurturing ground for future innovative leaders and agents of change. The minister also thanked the teachers for their dedication, reinforcing the notion that quality education is a collaborative effort. The students expressed their appreciation to the Provincial Government for constructing schools to include more children in the education system. They committed to maintaining the school for future generations. The new school, built by the Cabinda Centro Block Consortium, features facilities such as an office, reading room, and sports court, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive educational development.
