Minister Manuel Homem Assesses Long-Delayed Juvenile Center Construction

Huambo: The Minister of Interior, Manuel Homem, visited Huambo to assess the stalled construction of the Center for Minors in Conflict with the Law. The project, which began in 2013 adjacent to the Cambiote Prison, has been halted since 2016 due to financial constraints.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Minister Homem, accompanied by local governor Pereira Alfredo, did not address the media but received detailed briefings about the site's progress. The center, designed to cover 8,400 square meters, currently shows only 77 square meters of physical execution. It is planned to accommodate 1,200 minors under both closed and semi-open regimes.

The facility aims to enhance security against invasions and offer opportunities for productive activities for its residents.
