Minister of Justice orders audit of recruitment within department from Jan 14, 2011 to Jul 25, 2021

Minister of Justice Leila Jaffel issued a memorandum on Monday ordering a comprehensive audit of the recruitment and integration processes within the Ministry of Justice and its affiliated departments and entities from January 14, 2011 to July 25, 2021.

The memorandum was addressed to the Public Prosecutor, the Director of Judicial and Inspectorate Affairs, the Director General of Prisons and Rehabilitation and the Director General of the Judges’ Housing Department, as well as to the staff of the Ministry of Justice. It provides for the establishment of a list of the persons concerned by this procedure, with a copy to the Ministry of Justice, containing all the relevant data.

The document published by the Ministry’s orders the creation and digitalisation of files on employees subject to the procedure, and calls on the heads of the relevant departments and divisions to make them available on request to the audit committees set up for this purpose.

“The archives are to be secured and preserved in accordance with current procedures,” the document states.

The Minister also ordered the creation of a special team within the Ministry, involving the heads of the departments and entities involved in the audit process, to ensure the proper implementation of the provisions of Decree No. 591 and to facilitate the tasks of the audit committees by providing them with all the documents requested.

The issuance of this memorandum falls within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of Decree no. 591 of September 21, 2023, on conducting a comprehensive audit of the recruitment and integration processes within the civil service, public authorities, public institutions, public shareholding companies and all other public entities, made from January 14, 2011 to July 25, 2021.
