Tunis: Minister of Social Affairs Kamel Maddouri met on Wednesday in Geneva with Algerian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Faisal Ben Taleb and the delegation accompanying him, in the presence of Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the UN in Geneva, Sabri Bachtobji.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review cooperation between the two countries in the fields of employment, industrial relations, health and occupational safety and social security.
The two ministers praised the diversity of joint actions between Tunisia and Algeria in the social field through the establishment of a legislative framework comprising a number of agreements, MoUs and executive programmes, and twinning agreements in several sectors.
Maddouri stressed the importance of cooperation between Tunisia and Algeria in the social field and the means of boosting partnership programmes between the two countries in all sectors, in particular social security, the digitalisation of social services and electr
onic transactions.
For his part, the Algerian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security underlined his country’s willingness to further strengthen the fruitful relations between the two countries in areas of common interest and to promote them through the exchange of experiences.
The two ministers agreed to exchange visits to social security institutions in order to benefit from the experiences of both countries.
