Minister of State Inaugurates Pasta Factory in Chinguar

Chinguar: The municipality of Chinguar, in the province of Bi©, has seen the inauguration of a pasta and biscuits factory by Jos© de Lima Massano, the Minister of State for Economic Coordination.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the factory was established as a private initiative by the Vinevala farm and joins existing production lines of wheat and corn flour that have been operational on an experimental basis since last year. The facility boasts a daily production capacity of 35 tons of pasta and 15 tons of biscuits, while the wheat flour mill can produce up to 60 tons per day.

In its initial phase, the factory has created 62 direct jobs. Alfeu Vinevala, the owner of the factory, stated that over three million dollars have been invested in the project, which produces items such as spaghetti and various types of biscuits. However, Vinevala noted that the investment in crop fields in Chinguar and Andulo, Bi© province, is still insufficient to meet the factory's wheat requirements, relying on support from local producers and neighboring provinces Huambo and Cubango.

Minister Jos© de Lima Massano expressed satisfaction with the efforts of local entrepreneurs in diversifying the national economy and leveraging the country's potential for overall well-being. He emphasized that such initiatives should inspire entrepreneurs across different sectors to stimulate regional economies and support state efforts in promoting employment.

Reaffirming the government's commitment, Massano pledged continued support for peasants to ensure food security. The opening ceremony was attended by the governor of Bi©, Celeste Adolfo, along with other government officials.
