Lisbon: Angolan Minister of Transports, Ricardo de Abreu, reaffirmed on Friday the total opening of Angola to European investment. Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the Eurafrican Forum 2025, an event sponsored by the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic, the Minister emphasized the importance of creating conditions that ensure investments are done safely and align with economic standards for profitability and security. According to Angola Press News Agency, Ricardo de Abreu highlighted that Angola is ready for mutually beneficial business and partnerships. He clarified that these partnerships are not about charity but are geared towards return on investment, with the potential to drive economic development between Africa and Europe. The Minister outlined efforts to attract international private sector investment in Angolan infrastructure, which is integral to promoting various projects. He pointed to the Lobito corridor as a successful example, describing it as a corridor of economic development t hat extends beyond infrastructure. Abreu emphasized Angola's aim to leverage other sectors such as agribusiness, industrial processing, innovation, technology, tourism, and commerce along the corridor. This strategy is designed to create jobs, promote knowledge, and foster economic progress within the region, particularly benefiting Angola. The 8th edition of the Eurafrican Forum, one of the most prestigious platforms for dialogue between African and European leaders, is taking place in Carcavelos, Portugal, from Friday to Saturday. The event saw the participation of prominent figures, including the Presidents of Angola and Portugal, Joo Lourenço and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, as well as leaders from European governments and global experts in diplomacy, economy, and innovation.
