Benguela: The Minister of Territory Administration, Dionsio Manuel da Fonseca, emphasized the allocation of forty million dollars to bolster the Integrated Local Development and Poverty Development Program. This announcement was made in Benguela during the conclusion of the inaugural technical-scientific journeys focused on local development.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Dionsio da Fonseca underscored that the funding is intended to support newly established municipalities following the recent political and administrative restructuring. The initiative was ratified in a session of the Council of Ministers and is set to be officially published soon.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the contributions from university students in Benguela Province who participated in the sessions. Additionally, he acknowledged the collaboration with Katyavala Bwila University in facilitating the event.
Over the course of two days, the technical and scientific discussions addressed various topics. These included infrastructure, mobility, transportation and logistics, energy and water access, and connectivity in relation to local development. The sessions also covered the experiences of the Cabinda Cabito corridor and drought mitigation infrastructures in the province of Cunene.
