Mo§smedes: The Ministry of Territorial Administration (MAT) is organizing the 3rd edition of Local Development Week (SDL) on August 14th and 15th in the province of Namibe, Angola. This initiative aims to bring together public decision-makers, experts, academics, civil society representatives, and local authorities across the nation to engage in discussions, share experiences, and highlight effective practices in local governance within Angola.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Local Development Week is a strategic platform designed to drive the implementation of public development policies, enhance the administrative deconcentration process, stimulate innovation in public management, and reinforce the role of municipalities in fostering economic development, social inclusion, and improving the quality of life for residents.
The program kicks off on August 14th with the 12th Forum of Angolan Municipalities and Cities. This forum serves as a critical venue for coordination, reflection, and the exchange of experiences, focusing on the main challenges, opportunities, and prospects for strengthening local governance and municipal development.
The agenda also includes a workshop on Local Governance, aimed at bolstering the technical and institutional capacities of Local State Administration officials. The workshop will promote the sharing of knowledge, experiences, and innovative solutions for more efficient public management.
On August 15th, participants will explore key tourist sites in Namibe province. This initiative is designed to promote and showcase the region's historical, cultural, and environmental heritage, along with its tourism potential.
