Luanda: The results of the three external evaluation and accreditation processes in the Higher Education sector, carried out between July and October 2025, will be presented this Thursday in Luanda by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation. The event is set to be conducted by the National Institute for Evaluation, Accreditation and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES). This initiative is part of the ongoing process to evaluate and accredit the quality of higher education in the country. According to Angola Press News Agency, the three processes focused on evaluating courses related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and re-evaluating Medicine, other Health Sciences courses, as well as Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences courses. The initial evaluation of Medicine and Health Sciences courses took place in 2023. In July 2025, the evaluation of 235 STEM courses was conducted, encompassing 69 higher education institutions, with 28 located in Luanda and 41 in other provinces. Following this, in September 2025, 78 Medicine and Health Sciences courses were re-evaluated across 27 institutions, including nine in Luanda and 18 elsewhere. By October 2025, the re-evaluation extended to 358 Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences courses at 81 institutions, with 29 in Luanda and 52 in other provinces. The comprehensive evaluation process involved both national experts and international participants from Brazil, Cabo Verde, Cuba, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zimbabwe, Portugal, and So Tomé and Príncipe.
