Nabil Ammar participates on December 11 and 12 in Geneva in high-level event celebrating 75th anniversary of UDHR


Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Amar will participate in the high-level event organized by the United Nations in Geneva on December 11 and 12, under the title “Human Rights 75” as part of the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The event will see the participation of Heads of State as well as Government and senior officials to discuss the future of human rights in relation to peace and security, development and the economy, digital technologies, the climate and the environment.

The event is an opportunity to Tunisia to reiterate its full support to the Palestinian cause and Palestinians’ rights to life, self-determination and the restitution of their dispossessed lands.

The Foreign Affairs Minister will also attend the Global Refugee Forum on December 13, in Geneva. The event takes every four years at the ministerial level to assess the progress made in achieving the objectives of the Global Compact on Refug
ees and review current arrangements on sharing burdens and responsibilities.

During his visit, Nabil Ammar is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Arab and western countries as well as with senior officials of international organizations so as to boost bilateral relations and share viewpoints on various issues on the agenda of the two meetings.

On December 14, the minister will make a working visit to the Swiss capital, Bern, during which he will meet with Swiss officials to discuss ways of fostering cooperation, particularly in the judicial field, and the efforts made by the Tunisian State to recover looted funds and mechanisms to encourage circular migration and maximize its benefits.

He will also meet members of the Tunisian community residing in Switzerland.
