Namibian Minister Highlights ANGOTIC 2025 as Key for Bilateral Technological Relations

Luanda: Namibia's Minister of Information, Communication, and Technology, Emma Theofelus, emphasized the importance of ANGOTIC 2025 as a pivotal platform for enhancing bilateral relations and technological exchange between Angola and Namibia. During an interview with ANGOP on Thursday, conducted on the sidelines of the event, Theofelus underscored the forum's role in fostering experience-sharing and strategic partnerships.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Theofelus expressed that both nations have substantial opportunities for collaboration and mutual learning, particularly in understanding Angola's digital advancements and governmental efforts to improve connectivity and technological innovation. The event serves as a significant venue for Namibia to gain insights into Angola's progress in the digital sphere.

Theofelus highlighted that the technology showcase at ANGOTIC 2025 provides a comprehensive view of Angola's strides in connectivity infrastructure, supported by both internal programs and international collaborations. She specifically mentioned Angosat, Angola's telecommunications satellite, as a notable initiative, and conveyed Namibia's interest in acquiring knowledge from Angola, especially in satellite technology.

The minister further noted the existing interconnection between the two countries through submarine cables, facilitating efficient data exchange and communication. She also expressed her expectations for the current edition of the forum, focusing on strengthening the cooperative ties between Angola and Namibia.

Heading the Namibian delegation, Theofelus is accompanied by representatives from the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and the Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), demonstrating the country's commitment to deepening its technological collaboration with Angola.
