National Electoral Commission Evaluates 2027 Election Preparations in Luanda

Luanda: The National Electoral Commission (CNE) convened its first ordinary plenary session of 2026 on Thursday, focusing on the preparation for the upcoming 2027 electoral process.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting involved a detailed review and deliberation on several key agenda items. A significant part of the discussion centered on evaluating the summary report concerning public tenders that are essential for supporting the electoral process in 2027.

The commissioners also discussed the appointment of a new spokesperson for the CNE, as well as a proposal for the directive regarding the institutionalization of electoral administration bodies. This is within the context of the country's newly implemented Political-Administrative Division.

Additionally, the agenda for the meeting included preparations for the IV General Assembly of the Network of Electoral Administration Bodies of the CPLP. This assembly is a collaborative platform that connects institutions responsible for electoral management across the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries.
