National Police Mobilized for Icolo & Bengo Expo Security

Catete:A total of 270 National Police officers have been deployed to ensure security during the first edition of the Icolo and Bengo Expo/2026, taking place from October 22 to 25 at the Africa Manufacturing Center in the municipality of Catete.

According to Angola Press News Agency, this information was released by Chief Superintendent Euler Matari, spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in the province of Icolo and Bengo, on Thursday at the event's location. The deployment is part of efforts to maintain order and public peace during the event, which operates under the theme "Connecting Investments, Driving Development."

Matari stated that officers from various specialized departments under the Ministry of Interior delegation will be present. To further enhance security, a Command Post will be established to manage security matters both inside and outside the venue. This will involve the Civil Protection and Fire Services as well as the Traffic Police.

The Ministry of Interior will also participate as an exhibitor at the expo, showcasing technical equipment to inform the public about the skills, qualities, and capabilities of the Ministry's various agencies. Services such as same-day driver's license issuance and passport application processing through the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) will be offered.

Chief Superintendent Matari highlighted that, aside from the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) and the Directorate of Intelligence and Information for Police (DIIP), the Ministry of Interior will be fully represented. The Prison Services will emphasize inmates' potential in agricultural production, arts, and crafts.
