Luanda: A significant investment of 330 million US dollars by Naval Group has been announced for the construction of a food processing industrial complex in the Cacuaco neighborhood of Luanda. This initiative aims to establish a facility with a daily capacity to process 5,000 tons of various products.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the announcement was made by the Director General of the Naval Group, Helder Caetano, during the 2026 Angola International Fair (FILDA). The industrial complex is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will consist of seven processing units. These units will focus on essential food processing activities such as rice husking, pasta processing, wheat and corn processing, and soybean crushing.
Caetano highlighted that the pasta processing and rice husking units are expected to commence operations later this year, while the remaining units are projected to be operational by 2027. The new complex is anticipated to generate over 2,000 jobs, marking a significant boost to the local economy.
The decision to construct the industrial complex was driven by the necessity to enhance current production levels to satisfy market demand. Although details were not elaborated upon, Caetano mentioned that the group plans to initiate a project supporting family farming in the medium term.
Naval Group, active in the Angolan market since 2007, has been involved in the production and marketing of food products, hygiene and cleaning supplies, and agricultural tools and equipment. Its product lineup includes well-known brands such as Boa Vista oil, Gracia pasta, and flours like Gl³ria, Dona Lºcia, and Kuria. The group currently employs around 3,000 people, contributing significantly to the local economy.
