LUANDA: The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte seized a total of 2,468 diamond stones of various carats on Tuesday in Lucapa municipality, for illegal possession and trafficking, the spokesperson of the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Graciano Lumanhe has said. According to Angola Press News Agency, the diamonds were in possession of a 35-year-old Egyptian national. The operation also led to the confiscation of 6,750 US dollars and 1.1 million kwanzas. Authorities seized a diamond weighing scale, a diamond testing machine, and a sieve game, among other tools used in the illicit diamond trade.
