Palancas Negras Coach Calls 30 Players for Friendly Against Reigning World Champions Argentina

Luanda: Angolan national football team (Palancas Negras) coach Patrice Beaumelle has announced a roster of 30 players for an upcoming friendly match against Argentina, scheduled for the 14th at the 11 de Novembro stadium in Luanda. The squad includes four goalkeepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders, and ten forwards, as Beaumelle aims to test and prepare his team ahead of the African Cup of Nations (CAN'2025).

According to Angola Press News Agency, Coach Beaumelle emphasized the significance of the match, describing it as an opportunity to demonstrate the team's capabilities against the reigning world champions. The game will be broadcast by numerous television networks globally, offering a platform for the Palancas Negras to showcase their talent. Beaumelle is focused on fostering a team spirit defined by collaboration and unity, where no individual is above the collective effort of the national team.

Beaumelle highlighted the importance of maintaining possession of the ball and noted the positive developments in team dynamics and atmosphere observed during the recent FIFA date. He expressed his intent to continue building on these aspects for future success. The coach also addressed the situation of injured players from previous matches, including Gelson Dala, Manuel Benson, and Zine Salvador, expressing his intention to retain them in the squad to monitor their recovery and performance.

The players are expected to arrive in Angola by the 10th, with training sessions planned at the Est¡dio 22 de Junho to ensure the match venue remains in optimal condition for the high-profile encounter. The match also forms part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Angola's National Independence, set to be commemorated on the 11th.
