Luanda: The minister of telecommunications, information technology and media, Mario Oliveira, on Tuesday called for the reinforcement of citizenship, patriotism, and love for the homeland as the main forces for the progress and sustainable development of Angola in the coming years. According to Angola Press News Agency, speaking at the 50th anniversary of the country's independence, the minister emphasized that this milestone represents the beginning of a new stage for Angola. He highlighted the need for collective efforts and responsibility to consolidate past achievements and tackle future challenges. The minister pointed out that Angola is embarking on a new phase with goals centered around modernization, economic growth, and institutional strengthening. He identified the challenges of the coming decades as requiring a global perspective, affecting sectors such as telecommunications, mass media, health, education, and public works. This approach necessitates an integrated and innovative understanding. Mario Oliveira reaffirmed the commitment to ongoing staff training coupled with continuous technological adaptation, deeming the new technologies sector as crucial for Angola's economic and social development. He also underscored the significance of innovation and digitalization as drivers of productivity and national competitiveness.
