Physical and Mental Health Key to Military Combat Capability, Says Angolan Minister

Luanda: The Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic of Angola, Francisco Furtado, emphasized on Tuesday that the physical and mental health of military personnel is crucial for ensuring combat capability, discipline, and operational readiness. He made these remarks at the commencement of the XXI Military Health Meeting of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), which is taking place in Luanda, the capital of Angola, and will conclude on Wednesday.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Furtado highlighted the importance of investing in modern and technologically advanced military health systems to guarantee troops' operational readiness and mission effectiveness. He stated that the performance of armed forces is directly linked to the availability of efficient health services that can provide appropriate assistance during both peacetime and operational scenarios.

Furtado further stressed the significance of strengthened cooperation among CPLP countries to consolidate capabilities, share knowledge, and develop joint strategies to address current military health challenges. The ongoing meeting in Luanda brings together delegations from Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, So Tom© and Prncipe, and Timor-Leste, aiming to bolster technical and scientific cooperation within the Portuguese-speaking military health community.
