A policeman was stabbed Monday near the seat of Brazil’s embassy in Tunis.
The police officer was interrogating the assailant about his presence in the vicinity of the embassy when he stabbed him.
The attacker was arrested after shooting him in the leg, the Interior Ministry said. He was taken to the hospital.
A police officer told TAP earlier a law enforcement officer was stabbed outside Brazil’s embassy in Tunis. Gunfire was heard, according to witnesses.
Police cordoned off the area.
