Luanda: The Secretary of State for Territorial Administration, Teresa Quivienguele, highlighted Thursday in Luanda the role of young people as protagonists at the forefront of development processes, consolidation of citizenship and strengthening of local governance.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Teresa Quivenguele made the statement at the opening of the workshop on "Youth and Local Governance," emphasizing the importance of this segment of society as the main social and productive force in the country. She underscored that the nation relies on young people to execute excellent, differentiated public governance, rooted in professionalism, rigor, discipline, and the prudent management of state resources for the benefit of citizens.
Teresa Quivienguele urged each young person to assume the role of an agent of social transformation, a defender of the homeland, and a promoter of civic participation and active citizenship. She stressed the importance of ethics, integrity, and good governance as guiding principles.
The workshop on Youth and Local Governance is part of the "Youth April" events, which spanned the month of April under the theme "Youth, Innovate, Transform and Develop". The initiative aimed to address challenges related to enhancing participation and engagement, ensuring the merit, competence, technical capacity, ethics, civic, moral, and patriotic training of young leaders in local governance.
