President João Lourenço predicts reinforcement of regional integration

Angolan head of State João Lourenço said Thursday that he hopped the 43rd Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government, taking place in the Angolan capital, Luanda, make decisions that contribute to its growth and reinforcement of regional integration.

João Lourenço was addressing the event under the theme: “Human and financial capital: The key drivers for sustainable industrialisation of the SADC Region”.

In his speech, the Statesman said he expect that the Summit allows taking advantage of the experience of each Member State and collect the best contributions for the intended success of the great event.

“It is in this environment that I want to wish you a good and productive stay in Luanda, so that the forum is a worthy success, with a beneficial and lasting impact on our region”, stressed the Angolan president.

He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the availability of the Statesmen to travel to Angola to participate “in the most important event held annually in the Community to witnessing the role of SADC toward its members.

The President welcomed Luanda for becoming the capital of this key African regional organization, and wished a broad reflection on matters involving SADC, making decisions that contribute to its growth and reinforcement of regional integration.

The Statesman highlighted the fact that Angola hosts for the third time the great event.

“This fact represents, for us, the clear recognition of the Member States to the ever visible commitment that our country has with the most important causes of the Southern African Development Community”, he pointed out.

Angola takes over from Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to the leadership of the SADC organisation for one-year term.

The regional organisation comprises Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
