The incident involved a bus crash that resulted in five fatalities and left over 40 individuals injured. According to Angola Press News Agency, the accident happened when a bus carrying dozens of passengers crashed. These passengers had participated in civic events in the city of Ndalatando. In a message to the families, President Lourenço conveyed his deep dismay over the incident, acknowledging the abrupt shift from a festive atmosphere to one of tragedy. The president offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and extended wishes for a swift recovery to those injured.
