Angola: Angolan President Joo Louren§o will travel to the province of Benguela this Tuesday, where he will visit the Lobito Refinery construction site. The information was released on Monday by the Secretary for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs of the President of the Republic, Lus Fernando.
According to Angola Press News Agency, after its completion, the Lobito Refinery will reinforce the capacity to supply petroleum derivatives to the market. The construction of the Lobito Refinery, with a processing capacity of 200,000 barrels per day, should be completed in 2027.
Sonangol has been the main company responsible for the execution of the project, designed to achieve self-sufficiency in the production of petroleum derivatives. The Head of State's return to Luanda is scheduled for the same day.
The President of the Republic was in Benguela in August 2025, when he presided over the Local Governance Council and inaugurated the 5th Municipalities and Cities Fair of Angola.
