Luanda: Angolan President and Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces, Joo Louren§o, made some reshuffle in the FAA and the National Police on Tuesday, including promotions, appointments, and dismissals of general officers and commissioners.
According to Angola Press News Agency, publicly released presidential decrees announced Brigadier Jos© Maria's promotion to the rank of Lieutenant General, while Colonels Ant³nio Edilson Wanandumbo and Joo da Cruz Matias were promoted to the rank of Brigadier.
In the same order, Lieutenant General Jos© Maria was appointed commander of the Southeast Military Region, and Brigadiers Ant³nio Edilson Wanandumbo, Ant³nio Samy, Joo da Cruz Matias, and Miguel Quinanga were appointed to various positions, including commander of the 41st Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Central Military Region and advisor to the Minister of National Defense, among others.
Brigadiers Ant³nio Samy, Jos© Maria, and Miguel Quinanga were also dismissed from their previous positions in the Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and the General Staff of the Southeast Military Region.
Within the National Police, Chief Superintendent Manuel Jos© Constantino was promoted to deputy commissioner. Several commissioners and deputy commissioners, including Frederico Gabriel Damio and Engr¡cia Lopes da Costa, were dismissed from their management and command roles.
The Head of State appointed Deputy Commissioners Cel©nia Nanjila da Vera Cruz Tavares Martinho Jºnior, Sandra Marisa Ferreira de Castro Paiva, and Fernando Lus Joo to the rank of Commissioner. Chief Superintendent Avelino Jos© was elevated to Deputy Commissioner.
In other appointments, Commissioner Mateus Andr© was named Director of the Police Training School, and Commissioner Fernando Lus Joo was appointed as Delegate of the Ministry of the Interior and Provincial Commander of Lunda Sul. Several deputy commissioners, including Manuel Jos© Constantino and Joo Paiva, received new roles in logistics and provincial command positions.
Deputy Commissioner Bernardo Jos© Diogo was appointed 2nd Provincial Commander of Cubango province, and Deputy Commissioner Avelino Jos© was named Commander of the Reaction and Patrol Unit of the Luanda Provincial Command.
