Luanda: President Joo Lourenço on Friday greeted all Angolan workers in the different fronts and services, on the occasion of May Day, for their contribution to the development and international projection of the country. According to Angola Press News Agency, According to a note from the Organs of Support to the President of the Republic to which ANGOP had access, in a message on the occasion of International Workers' Day, this is an event that values the commitment of those who guarantee with their effort, so often anonymous and undervalued, the production of goods and services essential to human existence. It adds that, on this festive date, workers around the world celebrate the fraternal and solidarity ties that unite them, beyond geographical borders and regardless of the systems of government in which they carry out their work. It also states that, on this day, the intention is to recognize the essential role workers play in the functioning of societies, whatever they may be, because they are the pr oductive base and the organic link of their social structure. In Angola, the Government recognizes the importance of the work carried out by workers and, despite the difficulties, has done everything to improve their living conditions and those of their families, to guarantee their access to fairly paid jobs and to create legislation that protects them from all forms of exploitation.
