President Joo Lourenço Travels to New York for UN General Assembly

New york: Angolan President Joo Lourenço, travels on Sunday to New York, United States of America, to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to Angola Press News Agency, the Secretary to the President of the Republic for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs, the Head of State is scheduled to deliver Angola's address on Tuesday during the General Assembly's general debate. This year, the debate is taking place under the theme "Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers results for all." During his stay in New York, Joo Lourenço is expected to carry out an intensive diplomatic agenda, meeting with figures from the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, science, and other sectors of interest to Angola. The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly formally began its proceedings on September 8 at the organization's headquarters in New York. The High-Level Week runs from September 18 to 28, with the General Debate sc heduled for September 22-26 and 28.
