Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, said after a meeting with President Kais Saied at the Carthage Palace that he had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad to enhance the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of political consultations or in the economic, investment, cultural or academic fields.
In a video released by the Presidency, Al-Budaiwi expressed his hope that “the memorandum of understanding will lead to tangible results that can be achieved as soon as possible, with the start of talks at the level of senior officials from both sides in the near future.”
He also stated that he had explained to the Head of State the contents of the MoU, which “will be of great benefit to the brotherly Tunisian people”, he said.
He also said that the GCC General Secretariat looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with Tunisia in the interest of the Gulf and Tunisian peoples.
According to a statement from the Presidency, Kais Saied praised the “deep and sincere brotherly relations and the strong bonds of fruitful partnership that exist between Tunisia and the GCC countries”.
He expressed Tunisia’s desire to develop them and build promising partnerships in various sectors, according to new mechanisms and visions that consolidate the values of solidarity and synergy. This will be done, in particular, by making good use of the capabilities and opportunities available to both sides, drawing on each other’s expertise and experience, and resuming the normal pattern of economic, investment and financial cooperation between Tunisia and the Gulf countries, said the President.
