Lisbon: The President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o, is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Portugal this Thursday. The visit comes at the invitation of Portuguese authorities and is aimed at bolstering the existing bilateral cooperation between Angola and Portugal.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the agenda for the first day of President Louren§o's visit includes meetings with key Portuguese leaders. He is scheduled to meet with President Marcelo de Sousa at the Palace of Bel©m and Prime Minister Lus Montenegro in So Bento. These discussions are expected to focus on enhancing political and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
In addition to political engagements, President Louren§o will meet with representatives of the Portuguese business sector. This meeting will also be attended by Angolan entrepreneurs and is designed to deepen economic cooperation and explore potential investment ventures between Angola and Portugal.
The first day of the visit will also feature a courtesy visit to the Assembly of the Republic, where President Louren§o will be received by Jos© Aguiar-Branco, the leader of the Portuguese Parliament. The day concludes with an official dinner at Ajuda Palace, held in honor of the visiting Angolan President.
On the second day, Saturday, a significant dialogue between the presidents of Angola and Portugal is planned, moderated by a media professional. This dialogue aims to further reinforce the friendship and cooperative ties between the two countries.
