Baa-Farta: The second commander-general of the National Police, Chief Commissioner Domingos Ferreira de Andrade, emphasized the significant role of the National Police Academy in the vocational training of police personnel during an event in Baa-Farta. Speaking at the presentation of the new director of the Santana Police Academy, Andr© Pitra 'Petrof', Commissioner Soba Domingos Quilulu, Andrade highlighted the Academy as a critical institution for ensuring public safety through effective training.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the commissioning officer called for strong collaboration with the new leadership of the Academy, positioning it as a center of excellence in knowledge. He stressed the importance of the command and trainers in inspiring and guiding trainees, fostering trust, leadership, and positive behaviors.
Commissioner Soba Domingos Quilulu, the newly appointed director, expressed his commitment to enhancing the quality of the training processes. He outlined a strategic focus on rigor, discipline, and the development of teaching staff, emphasizing the need for effective accommodation and working conditions. Quilulu's mandate will focus on seven key areas: change, unity, transparency, justice, humanism, cooperation, and institutional development.
Quilulu clarified that the proposed changes signify a positive evolution rather than a break from the past. He aims to align the Academy's vision with the National Police's overarching goals and adapt training to meet contemporary societal needs. Building a healthy training environment and fostering trust and commitment within the training community are central to his vision.
Furthermore, the commissioner pledged to enhance professional competence, meritocracy, patriotism, and professional harmony to stabilize and contextualize the Academy's training strategies.
Outgoing director Commissioner Manuel Fernandes, who now steps into the role of national director of the Tax and Customs Police, reflected on his tenure at the Academy as a period of significant professional and personal growth. He expressed gratitude for the support of the Academy's team, from senior officers to civilian workers, during his five-year leadership.
During the event, Sub-Commissioner Ezequiel Ufolo Ant³nio was introduced as the deputy director of the Academy, marking a new chapter in the institution's ongoing mission to provide exemplary vocational training to police personnel.
The ceremony was marked with a graduation of the troops on parade, delivery of the banner to the new director, as well as a parade of the forces.
