Sidi Bouzid: The grain harvest in Sidi Bouzid governorate is expected to rise to over 267,000 quintals, including 55,900 quintals of barley.
This increase is due to the extension of cultivated areas, which rose to 7,492 ha in 2024, against 5,640 ha in 2023, reads a report published by the Regional Authority for Agricultural Development (French: CRDA).
Grain production in the region is shared between the West Sidi Bouzid, Jelma, Bir Lahfay, Menzel Bouzaiene and Souk Jedid delegations.
A working meeting was recently held at the Sidi Bouzid governorate headquarters to discuss preparations for a successful grain harvest season.
The harvested grain will be stored at the Lassouda, Ben Aoun, Mezzouna and Menzel Bouzaiene centres, with a total capacity of over 51,000 quintals.
