Soyo:Education agents in the municipality of Soyo in Zaire province have been participating in a training session on how to fill out data collection instruments for the 2025/2026 School Census. This training, which began on Monday, will continue until October 14 and aims to equip teachers and technicians involved in statistics and human resources with the necessary skills for the data collection process.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the School Census will facilitate the updating of data regarding educational establishments, classrooms, student enrollment, academic performance, and teaching and administrative staff. These indicators are crucial for planning new educational initiatives, such as the construction and rehabilitation of schools, teacher assignments, and the distribution of educational materials.
The Ministry of Education, through the Education Management Information System (SIGE), is spearheading this initiative. The training seeks to standardize concepts and ensure quality control in the filling out of questionnaires across the nation. The School Census receives technical and financial backing from the PAT II Project and the World Bank.
The training session, conducted under the theme "Knowing to plan, educating to transform," was inaugurated by José Russo Filipe, the deputy municipal administrator of Soyo for the Technical Area, Infrastructure, and Community Services.
