Stock market starts week on gloomy note

The stock market started the week on a gloomy note. The benchmark index slipped by 0.3% to 8,620.2 points, in a low volume of TND 2.6 million, according to the stock market broker Tunisie Valeurs.

STB shares were the best performers of the session. The state-owned bank’s share price rose by 4.6% to TND 3.660. Trading in the stock was thin at TND 7 thousand.

CELLCOM shares performed well during the session. Shares in the distributor of the EVERTEK brand rebounded by 4.2% to TND 1.230. The stock attracted a limited flow of TND 24,000.

SFBT shares were among the session’s biggest losers. Penalised by a sell-off, the brewery’s shares gave up 2.2% at TND 12.100. The share livened up the market with capital of TND 153,000 over the session.

The slide continues for Carthage Cement shares. The cement maker’s shares stumbled by 1.6% to TND 1.890. The stock traded for TND 156,000 over the session.

Amen Bank continues to top the trading charts. The private bank’s shares ended the session unchanged at TND 33.900, fe
eding the market with capital of TND 522,000.
