This achievement marked a significant milestone for the Angolan team during the second day of the competition. According to Angola Press News Agency, the quartet responsible for this victory included Nyriam Morais, Maria Parimbelli, Lia Lima, and Rhania Santo. Their performance on Thursday night secured Angola's first medal of the championship. The gold medal was claimed by the Algerian team consisting of Ryma Benmanssour, Mellissa Rouibi, Samara Abdellaoui, and Sihem Midouni, with a time of 8:42.69. The silver medal went to the South African team of Leigh Morran, Dayna Horne, Louise Groepes, and Lila Coetsee, who completed the race in 8:50.13. The national team has already set six new national records at the event, with three records in the youth category and three in the junior category. The men's team includes athletes such as Enzo Anjos, Santiago Guimar es, David Padre, Guilherme Sousa, Carlos Daniel, and Silvério Manuel. The women's team features Rhania Santo, Kenenise Vongo, Nyriam Morais, Wezza Morais, Maria Parimbelli, and Lia Lima. Looking ahead, Angola is set to compete again on Friday, with the mixed 4x100 metre freestyle relay team expected to be a major highlight of the event.
