TAAG Resumes Flights After Technicians’ Strike Ends

Baku:Angola Airlines TAAG has resumed its normal flight schedule following the end of the aircraft maintenance technicians' strike, which occurred from October 11 to 15.

According to Angola Press News Agency, a press release from TAAG stated that during the strike period, 186 out of 188 scheduled flights were successfully operated, representing an execution rate of over 98%. The airline managed to maintain essential services by activating its Operational Continuity Plan, minimizing inconvenience for passengers.

TAAG reported an average on-time performance rate of 84% across the five days of the strike, with only two flight cancellations. The airline's commercial teams proactively contacted affected passengers to offer alternative rescheduling options without penalties.

The statement highlighted the contributions of workers who kept operations running, as well as the support of aeronautical authorities, airport agencies, service providers, and institutional partners, which was crucial in maintaining air connectivity during the strike.

TAAG assured that all flights met the required technical, operational, and safety standards, emphasizing the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft as their top priority. The company continues to keep communication open with the Aircraft Maintenance Technicians Union (STMA) to reach an agreement that prevents future disruptions.

Further strike periods are announced for November 6 to 10, December 5 to 10, and December 19 to 23. TAAG will monitor negotiations and provide updates through its official channels, reaffirming its commitment to reliability, safety, and service quality.
