The ISIE Council supports proposal to dismiss Maher Jedidi

Members of the Council of the Independent High Authority for the Elections (French: ISIE) supported the proposal of President of the electoral authority Farouk Bouasker, to end the duties of Maher Jedidi (one of the council members) for “violating the right of impartiality.”

The ISIE decided to take all necessary measures against Jedidi so as “to maintain the proper functioning of ISIE,” reads a statement of the ISIE, adding that the proposal for dismissal will be submitted to a relevant party for review.

Last March, Bouasker decided to end the duties of Maher Jedidi as ISIE Vice-president.

Jedidi described the decision as “abusive”, criticizing Bouasker’s management of the ISIE as “poor”.
