Foreign Minister Téte António also addressed the meeting, underscoring the unique diplomatic agenda anticipated this year, which requires the commitment of Angolan diplomats. This milestone led to the historic visit of U.S. President Joe Biden, marking a significant event in Angolan diplomacy. The Lobito Corridor serves as a crucial link between the southern regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo and north-western Zambia to global markets through Angola's port of Lobito. The corridor's management was awarded to the Lobito Atlantic Railway consortium, which plans to increase train frequency and create jobs over the next 30 years. Investment in the Lobito Corridor, totaling over two billion dollars, aims to modernize infrastructure and promote goods transport. Strategically, it provides an alternative export route for Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, fostering regional economic development and stimulating investment in Angolan provinces.
