Tunisia partakes in UNWTO’s World Tourism Day event in Riyadh

Tourism Minister Mohamed Moez Belhassine is partaking in an event held by the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) in Riyadh-Saudi Arabia to mark the World Tourism Day (WTD). The event, which brings together over 500 people, including ministers, secretaries of State, managers, experts and tourism sector officials from 120 countries, is an opportunity to outline the development strategy for the global tourism sector, and examine ways of boosting tourism investment, especially green investment and investment in human skills, reads a Tourism Ministry press release. Participants pointed out the need to pool efforts and harness all available resources to ensure the development of sustainable tourism. Actually, the event will be an occasion to draw up new mechanisms to encourage investment and to invite the international community, governments, multilateral financial institutions and the private sector to devise a new tourism investment strategy. For the UNWTO, investment is a priority, and guaranteeing it is the key to successfully relaunching the tourism sector, and consequently boosting growth and development in the coming period.
