Tunisia’s Coach Praises Team’s Performance in Afrobasket’2025

Luanda: Tunisia coach Mehdy Mary praised his team this Sunday in Luanda for remaining in Afrobasket'2025, whose group stage ends tonight in Namibe and the capital Luanda. Speaking to the press after the 81-60 Group B victory over Madagascar, the coach spoke about the players' personality and character, noting that they are a new generation undergoing a rebuilding phase.

According to Angola Press News Agency, in the first round, the Maghreb team lost 66-86 to Cameroon, and in the second round, against Nigeria, 66-87. Compared to Afrobasket'2021, where Tunisia won, he said that this tournament has been more competitive. Meanwhile, Oussama Mamaoui, the match's top scorer with 33 points, indicated that he entered the match determined to help the team after two losses against Nigeria and Cameroon.

With this victory, Tunisia finished the series in 3rd place with four points and will play in the qualifying play-offs for the quarterfinals.
