He highlighted Angola's ratification of numerous United Nations treaties and its compliance with the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights' recommendations. Furthermore, Angola's membership in the Human Rights Council and the recent adoption of Resolution 275 in Luanda on violence against sexual and gender minorities were noted as significant milestones. Dava extended his congratulations to Angola for its contributions to international human rights systems and acknowledged the progress in ensuring efficient and responsible health services. Although challenges remain, he expressed optimism that human rights in Angola are attainable with collective effort. Notably, he mentioned the provision of resources, including 20 laptops and 45 computers, to support data collection and human rights initiatives, particularly in Benguela, Bié, and Cuanza Sul provinces. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, efforts will focus on creating a supportive legal environment to improve health outcomes and combat stigma and discrimination, especially concerning individuals living with HIV/AIDS. This includes ongoing legislative reforms. The event, led by Secretary of State for Human Rights Antónia Osvaldina Simo da Cruz Yaba, featured a conference titled "Human Rights: Essential in our daily lives," underscoring the importance of human rights in everyday life.
