War in Gaza: Foreign Minister receives letter from his American counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar, Friday, had a meeting with US ambassador to Tunisia Joey Hood, who handed him a message from his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken.

This message comes in response to the letter sent by Ammar to his counterparts in various countries through which he stressed the need to halt the assault against Palestinians and to recover their inalienable rights and establish their independent state.

The minister reiterated Tunisia’s firm position amid the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and aggression against the Palestinian people, reads a statement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Ammar called for ending the genocide in the enclave, delivering relief to Gazans and lifting the unjust siege imposed on them, the same source said.

Despite the two countries’ different standpoints regarding the Palestinian cause and the war in Gaza, an agreement was reached to continue boosting bilateral cooperation in various fields and consolidate the histo
rical ties biding the two nations which date back to more than two hundred years, the statement adds.
