Luanda – The deadline for receiving the accreditation lists of delegates from the political parties contending the general elections of 24th August ends this Wednesday (03), across the country, according to an official source.
On Monday, August 1st, the National Electoral Commission (CNE), extended the deadline for the receipt of these lists for a further three days.
According to the CNE, the extension of the deadline, which ended on Saturday (30 July), allowed the municipal electoral commissions to proceed with the
printing of credentials, within the stipulated deadlines.
The request for the extension of the deadline was made by the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), who claimed technical reasons, mainly operational
difficulties with the equipment available for that purpose.
The CNE board, unanimously decided to extend the period, which overall benefitted everyone, including the competing political parties who did not ask for an extension.
