INAD destroys 847 unexploded ordnance in Cambaxi

Malanje – At least 847 unexploded ordnance, removed from January to September this year, in the municipalities of Quela and Malanje, were destroyed Saturday by the National Demining Institute (INAD).

The destruction of the devices, with stress to anti-tank mines, anti-personnel mines, missiles, projectiles, ammunition, hand grenades and fuses, took place in the Cambaxi commune, municipality of Malanje.

The head of the Provincial Department of INAD in northern Malanje province, Domingos Diogo Vicente, said that the devices were removed in 64 localities, in an area of ​​276 square meters.

The process was carried out in the neighborhoods of Voanvoala, Cazeta, Carianga, Cir 13 (Malanje) and in the headquarters of Cambaxi commune.

He also said that from January to September of this year there were three accidents with mines, which resulted in two deaths and four injuries, in the municipalities of Quela and Malanje.

International Gastronomy fair marks opening of 9th Edition of FestNeto

Luanda – An international gastronomy exhibition was opened Saturday as part of the ninth edition of FestNeto, aimed to pay tribute to the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto.

In addition to Angola (host), ten countries are taking part in the event, underway at the Agostinho Neto Cultural Centre, in Catete, Icolo and Bengo municipality, in Luanda.

They are Congo, South Africa, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Palestine, Namibia, Cuba, Russia, Norway and Serbia.

Maria Eugênia Neto, widower of the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, expressed her gratitude, adding that it is an honour to resume FestNeto, aimed to pay tribute to the first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto
