97 Democratic Republic of Congo Citizens Repatriated from Zaire Province

Soyo:Zaire: A total of 97 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been repatriated in recent days by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for illegal entry and stay in the national territory.

According to Angola Press News Agency, these individuals were intercepted and detained across various locations in the region during control and inspection operations aimed at identifying foreigners in an irregular migratory status.

S©rgio Afonso, spokesperson for the Provincial Delegation of the Interior in Zaire, reported that 95 of the illegal immigrants were repatriated by administrative decision, while two others were sent back through judicial measures.

The repatriation process saw 43 individuals leaving through the Luvo land border and 54 via the naval post of the 2nd Border Police Unit in the municipality of Soyo. The group comprised 80 men and 17 women, accompanied by five minors.

Zaire Province shares a 310-kilometer border with the Central Congo Region of the DRC, encompassing five municipalities: Luvo, Soyo, N³qui, Cuimba, and Quªlo.
