Cabinda – At least 13 African ambassadors accredited to Angola started a two-day visit to the northern Cabinda Province on Thursday, to learn about the socio-economic and political situation of the region.
The delegation headed by the Dean of African Ambassadors in Angola, the Kenyan Josephat Kaunda Maikara, was received by the Cabinda Province vice governor for Political and Social Sector, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira.
The group is composed by representatives from Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mauritania, Zambia, Kenya, Algeria, Morocco, Mali, Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Côte d’Ivoire and Republic of Guinea.
Miguel de Oliveira welcomed the diplomats and informed them that the northern province of Angola enjoys political and military stability and growth in social and economic infrastructure.
The Dean of the African ambassadors in Angola, on his turn, advocated the strengthening of cooperation between the countries of the continent, having emphasized the Pan-African agenda for 2063.
“We believe that by working in a unified front, we will be able to lead to a rapid transformation of the continent and guarantee the people of Africa quality life”, the Kenyan ambassador said.
The diplomats visited local sites and socio-economic undertakings on Thursday, while on Friday they are to visit the Bakamas Shrine, the main traditional and cultural Mascot of the Makongo, Maloango and Mangoio peoples, at Tchizo Hill, outskirts of Cabinda City.
