Kigali: The Angolan men's under-16 basketball team emerged victorious against Sierra Leone with a score of 65-37 during the 3rd round of Group A. This win has secured their place in the quarterfinals of the African Championship, currently being held in Kigali, Rwanda, and running until the 14th of this month.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan team successfully put behind them the disappointment of their previous round loss to C´te d'Ivoire. The victory on Tuesday not only secured their advancement but also added five points to their tally. The team is now eagerly awaiting the announcement of their quarterfinal opponents.
In earlier matches, Angola achieved a win against the host nation with a score of 67-56 but faced defeat against C´te d'Ivoire with a scoreline of 51-64. As they move forward in the tournament, Angola is aiming to surpass their 4th place finish from the previous edition.
