Luanda: The first vice president of the National Assembly, Am©rico Cuononoca, met on Tuesday with Lin Songtian, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), to discuss bilateral cooperation. The meeting aimed to enhance the ongoing partnership and strengthen the historical ties between Angola and China.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Lin Songtian highlighted the purpose of the dialogue as a follow-up on the consensus reached between the heads of state of both countries. The meeting also aimed to deepen mutual understanding and bolster the historical friendship between the nations. Lin emphasized that the two countries have become true friends and reliable partners, having fought together in the past and now working side by side towards prosperity.
During the discussions, the importance of expanding exchanges in the areas of culture, education, and institutional collaboration was reiterated. Lin called for closer ties between the parliaments and encouraged the exchange of experiences in communication, research centers, and other societal sectors.
Lin Songtian also urged Chinese companies to invest in Angola, aiming to contribute directly to economic diversification. He expressed hope for a prosperous future for both nations, stating that the peoples of Angola and China should enjoy increasingly prosperous lives and that their nations should grow stronger together.
Bilateral relations between Angola and China are rooted in a robust economic and trade partnership. China stands as one of Angola's principal trading partners and investors, with cooperation spanning infrastructure, technology, staff training, and mutual support in international forums. Chinese investments are notably present in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and industry.
