AIB Journalists Enhance Expertise in AI and Video Editing

Ouagadougou: Journalists and correspondents from the Burkina Faso Information Agency (AIB) have committed to enhancing the quality of their productions following a comprehensive four-day training course focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and audiovisual production.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the conclusion of this intensive training, AIB journalists and correspondents vowed to apply their newly acquired skills while ensuring ethical and secure use of AI. "These skills will be put into practice once we return to our localities," stated Souleymane Zour©, an AIB correspondent in Ioba province, highlighting the potential for increased efficiency in producing content for AIB headquarters.

Zour© described the session as a "true school of professionalism and an enriching space for sharing experiences," commending the quality and relevance of the modules and the expertise of the trainers. Jo«l Patrick Koala, another AIB correspondent based in Sabou, also expressed optimism that the training would significantly elevate the quality of field productions.

Participants recommended that AIB's Director General, Ms. S©raphine Som©/Millogo, and her team continue to focus on technical capacity building through regular training and provision of professional equipment. In response, Mrs. Som©/Millogo expressed her satisfaction with the training's success and reiterated the agency's commitment to ongoing capacity development, emphasizing, "Our most precious asset remains the men and women who carry out the AIB's mission every day."

The training session, which began on July 18, 2025, provided practical instruction on AI-assisted content production, shooting, and video editing, equipping AIB journalists with vital skills for modern journalism.
