Angola addresses peace issues with UN representative

Luanda – The head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, Saturday, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, met with the deputy secretary general of the United Nations (UN), Amina Jane Mohammed, with whom he addressed issues related to peace and security.

On the sidelines of the 35th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, the two entities also analyzed issues related to the economy and development at the multilateral level.

The Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers, in a note, yet even today, in the Ethiopian capital, Téte António met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry.

As part of the intense diplomatic activity being carried out in Addis Ababa, the Angolan official held, Friday, a working meeting with the Prime Minister of Palestine, Mohammad Shtayyeh.

At the meeting, the two individuals discussed the deepening of relations of friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Minister Téte António is in Addis Ababa to participate in the 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Government, representing the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

Speaking today at the ordinary session of the AU, the head of Angolan diplomacy defended the holding of an extraordinary summit of the African Union (AU) on terrorism, to analyze the impact of this scourge on the continent.

In his speech, the head of Angolan diplomacy said that the extraordinary summit on terrorism would also serve to identify strategies leading to a comprehensive action plan.
