Luanda:Angola's expert at the Association of African Diamond Producing Countries (ADPA), Estanislau Buio, has emphasized the importance of a prudent and sustainable approach to the financial management of the organization. Speaking at a meeting of the ADPA expert committee, Buio highlighted the necessity of assessing costs and expenses to avoid compromising future generations.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Buio stressed that Angola recognizes the importance of financial sustainability in implementing the organization's 20-year strategic plan. He underscored the need for regular and adequate contributions from member states to ensure a solid legacy for the future.

Buio also addressed the topic of conference participation, suggesting the potential for budgetary adjustments to stay within the 2026 budget. He emphasized the importance of evaluating the cost-effectiveness of participating in events like the Indaba Mining conference to ensure concrete benefits for ADPA.

The meeting is part of the official celebrations for ADPA's 20th anniversary, which runs from November 2 to 4 under the theme "20 Years Empowering the Brilliance of African Diamonds - One Vision, One Voice." The event gathers ministers, senior government officials, technical experts, and global industry leaders to review two decades of cooperation and plan for the future of Africa's diamond sector.

Over the past twenty years, ADPA has become a leading voice for diamond-producing countries in Africa, advocating for local value creation, supply chain sustainability, and the sovereign interests of its 22 member states on the international stage.
